City Intrested In Skrtel
Our player of the season for last season Martin Skrtel is ready to turn-down an approach for his services from Premier League winners Manchester City.
City are keen to bolster their defensive options, with manager Roberto Mancini not convinced by Stefan Savic's credentials as back-up to first choice pairing Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.
And while Mancini also has the services of Kolo Toure at his disposal, he is intrested in adding another centre-back with top flight experience to his squad.
His agent however, has insisted that the 27-year-old Slovakian is keen to discuss his future with new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
'Some changes have been made at the club and he (Martin) wants to know what the aims and ambitions are. And of course, we will discuss the issue of Martin’s new contract,' said Karol Cstonto.
Skrtel wants to discuss a new deal provided the reds can match his ambitions
'Liverpool is a big club and just because they haven’t made the Champions League this year doesn’t mean they would not do it next year.
'There are expectations on both sides, though.'
The defender has two years left on his contract and it is thought the Reds, are eager to extend.

Rafa In Line For Italian U.C Sampdoria Job
U.C. Sampdoria's president says Rafa Benitez is 'one of the possibilities' the club are considering as manager for its first season back in Serie A.
The newly-promoted side appears keen on a big name despite current coach Giuseppelachini earning the club promotion at the first attempt.
Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone said: 'There is nothing concrete but there have been talks, it's in progress.'
Benitez, who led Liverpool to the 2005 Champions League, has been out of work after he was sacked by Inter Milan in December 2010.
Iachini took charge in November with Sampdoria floundering in mid table. He turned things around, leading the team into the playoffs and to victory in the final against Varese.
Iachini's contract was automatically renewed for a season by promotion. Courtesy of http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport
